LookBermuda Interactive Maps

Tourist Map
Our Interactive Bermuda Tourist Map is being used by the official Bermuda Department of Tourism web site: BermudaTourism.com, where several hundred Attractions, Activities and Hotels, etc., have custom "View Map" links allowing the user to launch the map zoomed in on their location of interest. We are currently negotiating similar functionality with other Bermuda related web sites, should your organization be interested in being listed on our map and having the ability to let your customers link directly to your location, please contact us.

Please use the sample links below to launch the map, then use the layers/menu and pan or zoom controls to move around the map. This is further explained in our quick overview.

Custom Map
We are able to customize our tourist map for specific locations. Click here to see a very basic demo of the custom location map we created using Elbow Beach Hotel as an example. This is a sample static HTML page that can be embeded in the customers' site, with a custom link that launches the LookBermuda map zoomed in on their location.

Contact us for more information.

Photo Map
In collaboration with the Bermuda Biodiversity Project, LookBermuda has developed an interactive Aerial Photo Map of Bermuda. To view this map, and learn more about how it will be used, click here.

Using our proprietary, custom mapping engine, we are able to efficiently present map based information, requiring only that the user have an up to date Flash plugin installed. We have several other non-tourism focused maps in development, please contact us for more information, or to discuss your own custom solution.

QUICK OVERVIEW:

Following are a few quick tips to help you use the map:

  • The Interactive Map is populated through a series of selected layers- so if there’s a layer you’re not interested, un-check it and it will disappear. Of course, if you change your mind you can always turn it back on.

  • These layers are database driven and content-specific, they serve as the maps menu.

  • Moving your mouse over any layer title will open its’ drop-down menu. The drop-down menu contains a list of points on the map that relate to the layer you’re hovering over. For example, if you hover your mouse over Beaches, a drop-down menu will open with ‘Achilles Bay, Annie’s Bay, Astwood Cove…’ etc. These are all Beaches.

  • Clicking on any point in the drop-down menus will move the map to its’ location and load a profile containing relevant multimedia and information into a panel on the lower right hand side of the map. For example, every Golf Course has a photo of the course, along with a short description of the course and its’ respective Par, Yard and Hole info – at a minimum.

  • Multimedia can include anything from our stunning Panoramic 360° photography of the point, to video loops, advertisements, still images, etcetera.

  • These profiles can be customized and upgraded. Contact us for more information on how.

  • Each point on the map can be linked to individually outside of the map. If your organization is on the map, you can link to it from your web site. When clicked, the Interactive map will zoom-in on the location of your organization, with its’ information or customized profile already loaded. Want your own customized version of the map that just happens not to have your competitors on it? We can do that to… and you don’t ever have to worry about the accuracy of any of the content on the map. We go straight to the respective content authorities for that, and they maintain control of it. This means that you can control the content in your customized profile!

  • You can pan (move across) the map using the menu in the bottom lower left hand side of the map.
